BETWEEN THE LINES:

“This story ranks up there with the best of them. The characters were well thought out and easy to fall in love with. They were average everyday people that you might walk by on the street or if you're lucky someone that you're actually blessed to have in your life in some capacity. To me this story is about forgiveness. Forgiveness of others, of ourselves and our faults. Life is too short to be lived in pain and anger. This story captures perfectly the life I want to lead. It says that you may fight, and you may want to walk away, but all good things are worth fighting for. Even if the person you have to fight is yourself. I say very well done Lynnette Baughman and I look forward to more from you in the future. This book reminds me of why I got hooked on romance at the age of fifteen.”

 JOYFULLY REVIEWED:

“I was amazed to find that this was her initial love story because it was so well written and the subject matter was unique. . . The tension, as well as attraction, with this at-odds couple was powerful. Her secondary characters were remarkable and served to enhance the beautifully developed story of the primary couple. The poignant dialogue and actions between the two was so emotionally charged it was impossible to put the book down . . . I look forward to more from this author. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes to escape in a story and appreciates a surprise ending."

Heartbroken and betrayed, Mandy left Montana and channeled all her energy into becoming a famous actress and a household name.  Kidnapped and almost killed by a deranged fan, Mandy returns home no longer the person she was when she left.  Mandy had to learn to walk, talk and relearn her life all over again.

Campbell West loved Mandy. He followed her life from the moment she left Montana.  He knows what she’s been through and what brought her back to Montana.  He also knows her memory was limited, but his wasn’t.  He remembered everything about her, especially how much he loved her and still does.  Will they finally be given a second chance; will Mandy want him once her memory returns?

Love With A Welcome Stranger is a very sweet story.  I adored Mandy.  She had the sweetest disposition.  She lived through hell and was still able to smile, love and forgive.  Cam and Mandy were a good match and it was sad that outside interference ruined what they had and could have had, but Love With A Welcome Stranger shows that true love always win in the end.  I really liked this story.  D’Ann, Mandy’s sister, all the other supporting characters and of course Mandy and Cam made Love With A Welcome Stranger a fantastic and wonderfully enjoyable read.

LONG AND SHORT REVIEWS BLOGSPOT:

“This book takes the reader deep into the heart of cowboy country. Ms. Baughman describes the magnificent scenery with loving attention. She is equally at home with her characters, especially Cam and Mandy, whose forgotten past forms the backbone of the novel. I enjoyed the little details about his horse-training and Mandy’s forays into cooking.

The ending was never in doubt--this is a romance, after all--but I was surprised by the twists and turns along the way. The secret that once separated Mandy and Cam seems insurmountable but the conclusion is satisfying in every way. This would be a great book to curl up in front of the fireplace with.”

Wild on Books:  FOUR BOOKMARKS!

As the smoke clears from the fires raging in his neck of the woods, Campbell West comes face to face with his past.  Still as beautiful as ever, Mandy remains the only woman the rough and rugged cowboy is unable to forget.  Which is sad because Mandy has forgotten all about Campbell and the love they used to share.  A would-be assassin’s bullet made sure of that fact.

Mandy McCay is back in Montana, the home she left years ago to pursue her dreams of Hollywood.  When a stalker shoots her and leaves her for dead, Mandy’s battle to surprise is tabloid fodder, even as far away as Montana.  Fighting to learn to walk and talk again, Mandy is more  upset with the loss of her memory.  Bits and pieces of things she knows she should remember just aren’t there.  Especially where Campbell West is concerned.  Her attraction for this handsome cowboy burns bright but what will happen if Mandy recovers her memory? Will she be upset to know that she left this man without a second thought and never looked back? Or will Mandy realize that she is finally home, in Campbell’s strong arms, where she needs to stay?

I wanted to hate Mandy McCay.  I really did. I wanted to not like her for leaving Campbell and never looking back.  I didn’t want her to be attracted to him because I didn’t want him to be hurt when she regained her memory.  Slowly, however, the more I read, the more I began to change my mind and realize that Mandy was just as much a victim as Campbell.  Mandy wanted to be famous; she wanted to act.  Her choice of leaving Campbell could not have been made lightly, no matter how it came across to anyone else.  I found her father distasteful at best and did not like his rough edges and stubborn attitude concerning Mandy.

Campbell West made me melt.  Sultry, handsome, virile. This cowboy had it all, including a heart.  He wanted to dislike and hate Mandy too.  He wanted to remain indifferent to the woman she had become and he couldn’t.  His fall was tough but it couldn’t have happened to a sexier cowboy.  His intentions towards Mandy started out less than stellar but the more time he spent with her, the more he realized that the woman he fell in love with so long ago was still in her and all he had to do was find her.

LOVE WITH A WELCOME STRANGER by Lynnette Baughman tugged at my heart and made me teary more than once. I am a sucker for books where lovers are reunited and this is one novel where the storyline just flowed. The plot was well-written and the love shared between the heroine and hero was steamy.  LOVE WITH A WELCOME STRANGER was just the right book for me to settle down and relax with on a lazy September day!
